Princess Diana Biography and Works.
Born on July 1, 1961, Princess of Wales Diana was the first wife of Charles, Prince of Wales. The couple got married on July 29, 1981. She has been an international charity and fund-raising figure as well as a pre-eminent celebrity of the late 20th century.
Her wedding to the Prince of Wales was televised and watched by a global audience of over 750 million people. After the marriage, she was given courtesy titles, such as the Duchess of Cornwall, Duchess of Roth’s and Countess of Chester. The couple had two children – Prince William and Prince Harry. A public figure since the announcement of her engagement to the Prince of Wales, Diana was born into an aristocratic English family with royal ancestry.
The marriage ended in divorce on August 28, 1996. The divorce was followed by her death in a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997. There was subsequent display of public mourning a week later.
Diana, in her lifetime, also received recognition for her charity work and for her support of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines’. She was the president of ‘Great Orion Street Hospital’ for children since 1989.

Although in 1983, she confided in the then-Premier of Newfoundland, Brian Peck ford, “I am finding it very difficult to cope with the pressures of being the Princess of Wales, but I am learning to cope,” from the mid-1980s, the Princess of Wales became increasingly associated with numerous charities.
