Clint Eastwood Biography and Works.

Clinton ‘Clint Eastwood, Jr. was born on May 31, 1930 to Clinton, Sr. and Ruth Eastwood. He is an American film actor, director, producer, composer and a politician.

After graduating from high school, he moved to Seattle in 1951 and started working as a lifeguard and swim instructor for the military.

Eastwood first became popular as a supporting cast member in the TV series, Rawhide in 1959. He then rose to fame for playing the ‘Man with No Name’ in A Fistful of Dollars, For A Few Dollars More, and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly during the 1960s. He also worked as Inspector Harry Callahan in the film-Magnum Force by Dirty Harry. The other films he worked are The Enforcer, Sudden Impact and The Dead Pool.

Eastwood won Academy Awards for Best Director and Producer of the Best Picture. He also received nominations for Best Actor, for his work in films, Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby.

Some of his other well-known films include Play Misty for Me (1971). The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976), Pale Rider (1985), In the Line of Fire (1993), The Bridges of Madison County (1995) and Gran Torino (2008).

He also directed films in which he did not appear, such as Mystic River (2003) and Letters from Iwo Jima (2006).

He was awarded two of France’s highest honours – the Ordre des Arts et des Letters medal in 1994 and the Légion d’honneur medal in 2007.

Since 1967, Eastwood has started his own production company, Malpaso films or Malpaso Productions. He also served as the non-partisan mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, from 1986 to 1988.

Trivia

Eastwood has seven children by five different women, and has married twice.
