Jackie Chan Biography and Work.

Born on April 7, 1954, Jackie Chan is an actor, comedian, director, martial artist, action choreographer, producer, entrepreneur, screenwriter, singer and stunt performer.

Chan has started acting at an early age at the school level and had joined a performance group, Seven Little Fortunes. Eventually, Chan appeared in the film, Big and Little Wong Tin Bar with others from the Seven Little Fortunes. He subsequently went on to appear in several more films as a child.

At the age of 17, Chan served as a stuntman in two Bruce Lee films – Fist of Fury and Enter the Dragon. His first adult starring role was in Little Tiger of Canton. It was in 1978 that Chan established himself as a comedy Kung Fu actor with Snake in the Eagle’s Shadow.

Much of Chan’s martial arts skills came from practising the arts while at the Chinese Opera Research Institute. He earned his blackbelt under Grandmaster Jin Pal Kim.

In his movies, he is known for his comic timing, acrobatic fighting style, use of improvised weapons, and innovative stunts. Since the 1960s, Jackie Chan has appeared in over 100 films.

He holds the Guinness World Record for “Most Stunts by a Living Actor’. Chan is also a successful singer in Hong Kong and Asia with numerous albums to his credit.

In 1982, Jackie Chan married popular Taiwanese actress Lin Feng Jiao (aka Joan Lin). The couple had a son.

Trivia

He also became friends with Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao in the group, a trio that became collectively known in Hong Kong as “Three Brothers” or “Three Dragons’.
