Bill Gates Biography and Works.

Born on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, William Henry ‘Bill’ Gates III is an American businessman, philanthropist, author, investor and current Chairman of Microsoft, the software company he founded with Paul Allen.

He had an early interest in software and began programming computers at the age of thirteen. Bill Gates became a student at the Harvard University in 1973. His life changed in January 1975 when a magazine carried a cover story on a $350 microcomputer, the Altair, made by a firm called the MITS.

He dropped out of the University and started working as a software designer. Allen and Gates planned to develop software for the newly emerging personal computer market.

The company, Microsoft became famous for their computer operating systems and business deals.

Gates proceeded to make a fortune from the licensing of an operating system, MS-DOS that IBM needed for their new personal computer.

On November 10, 1983, Microsoft Corporation formally announced Microsoft Windows, a next-generation operating system.

Bill Gates married Melinda French Gates in January 1994. The couple has three children.

Besides being the most famous businessman of the late 1990s, Gates has also distinguished himself as a philanthropist.

Bill Gates and his wife Melinda have endowed the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation with huge amounts of money to support philanthropic initiatives in the areas of global health and learning.

Bill Gates is the richest person in the world with more than 90 billion dollars in assets.

The Gates’s home is on a hill overlooking Lake Washington in Medina. According to sources in 2016, the total value of the property $4 billion dollars.
