Born on October 23, 1957, Sunil Mittal is the Chairman and Managing Director of the Bharti group. The USD 5 billion turnover company runs India’s largest GSM-based mobile phone service.

Making bicycle parts as a teenager, Sunil Bharti Mittal has come a long way. At the age of 43, he created a Telecom Giant in India. Sunil is an Alumnus of Harvard Business School and has been at the forefront of technology revolutionizing telecommunications with its world-class brands, products and services. The company has grown by leaps and bounds from its humble beginnings in the 1970s.

In the future, his focus is on providing international mobile services, retail industry and agriculture. He recently struck a joint venture deal with the Wal-Mart, the retail giant, for starting retail stores across India.
