Ans.

The need of natural impulses

The writer makes it very clear that the pursuit of happiness is really not degraded in any way. It should be followed with a noble purpose. They should not ignore the high standards set by the persons of saintly ideas. He should remember that natural impulses need natural satisfaction. It is also necessary to remember that good ideas and natural impulses help in real happiness.

Some tips for real happiness

After reading this essay ‘The Road to Happiness’ we note that the writer has given some tips for real happiness in life, “The most important of these things is an activity which at most times is enjoyable on its own account and which, in addition gradually builds up something that you are glad to see coming into existence.”

Some moralists say that happiness can never be gained when it is pursued but the writer of this essay thinks that it is only the matter of choosing the right manner of writing. For example, the earning money by useful labour is the right way than to become rich by gambling. According to the writer, two things are very necessary to get true happiness in life. They are good health and enough money. Only one desire can be achieved with limited amount of money, not many desires.

The need of natural activity

The writer of this essay makes it very clear that the activity should be natural as a dog chases to hunt a rabbit. On the other hand, according to the writer happiness is not possible without activity. He further says that excessive activity does not give any real satisfaction so natural activity is much preferred. It is further added. “Living for social success is one form of living by a theory and all living by theory is dusty and desiccation.”

The need of a main purpose as well as play

According to the writer some persons who are healthy and they have enough to eat need two more things to remain happy in their life. First of all they should have their main purpose of life including some constant impulses which should be related to the family of that man as well as related to his work. The second condition for happiness may be some kind of play. Their purpose is fun, not any serious purpose.

The need of some simple things

The writer asserts that some simple things are also very necessary to provide real happiness in the life of each and every person. They are the family members, children and the changes of seasons which are also necessary, for true happiness. There is no need of any set theory to give happiness. It should be remembered that we are basically all persons like animals. The writer says these words, “Man is an animal, and his happiness depends upon his philosophy more than he likes to think.” The proper diet and regular exercise also help in making a person really happy more than he thinks.
